Student Achievement Awards 2018

On Wednesday, February 7, 2018, OSSTF D19 hosted their annual Student Achievement Awards. The annual recognition evening is hosted by the Excellence in Education Committee of OSSTF D 19.
The Student Achievement Awards is a writing and creative arts competition that is open to all public secondary school students in Ontario.

The competition is meant to encourage the intellectual development of our students and an interest in society. The 1984 Provincial Assembly established the awards in honour of Marion Drysdale, a secretary at OSSTF/FEESO Provincial Office for twenty-two years, for her dedicated work over so many years.

Each year, students are provided with a new theme, determined by the Recognition and Promotion Sub-Committee of the Communications/Political Action Committee.

This year’s theme was What’s YOUR Super Power? Young, creative minds were encouraged to express themselves through various media with their vision of the theme. The results were superb!

This year’s winners include talented artists, writers, singers and digital media lovers. Congratulations to the Regional winner of Category A-4: Prose and Poetry, Senior 11-12 College/Workplace, Alessandra Di Lello, and the Regional and Provincial Winner of Category A-6: Prose and Poetry, French 11-12, Christina Mohan. The full recipient list from the OSSTF D19 division can be viewed here.

OSSTF D19 wishes to thank the Excellence in Education Committee for all their hard work, the talented students who participated, and the winners.
